On set you work, of course. But between a take and a wardrobe change, other things happen too. Glances that cross, pauses that stretch, smiles out of script.

There is no direction that holds: when Cupid enters the set, everything else is secondary. And we can only witness it — and tell the story.

Endless Azzurro: The Escape into Blue

We were on a caique, in the middle of Elba, with the perfect light and flat sea. During breaks, two models were always found on the deck. Always the last to finish their coffee. Always side by side. Then, one evening, they disappeared. No drama: just a mini-escape of love, among dried sheets and distant laughter. We found them at dawn, even more beautiful — and with a new gaze. A successful shoot. In every sense.

One Of These Days: Between Tatami and Chianti

On set in Tuscany, the Oribu countryside transformed into something more. The mood was already just right: nature, calm, little things. And among the little things, an unexpected understanding. Two models who seemed written for each other, and who began to really be. First keeping each other company during meals, then choosing the same breaks, then disappearing together at sunset. No one asked questions. The feeling was evident in the shots.

Is It Just a Coincidence? Probably. But Maybe Not.

Photo shoots are strange environments: intense, creative, suspended. You work a lot, sleep little, get to know each other quickly. And amidst that ordered chaos, something can happen. Something that isn’t planned in pre-production, but that lights up the backstage like good natural light.

Final Thoughts

Cupid doesn't have a badge, nor a call sheet. But every now and then he still shows up, between a wardrobe change and a shot in golden hour. And at that point, one can only let things happen. Because certain connections, like certain photos, work better when they aren’t planned.
